Image processing

When you choose a JPG, PNG or WebP file, browser APIs decode it and a local Canvas samples its pixels. The converter generates the ASCII text in the browser. Source image bytes are not uploaded to a Pic to ASCII application server, stored in a user account or added to a gallery.

Accounts, payments and saved projects

The current release has no account system, subscription checkout, project database or cloud image storage. Copy and download actions are initiated on your device. A downloaded text file contains the generated ASCII output, not the original image file.

Site analytics with Microsoft Clarity

Pic to ASCII uses Microsoft Clarity to understand aggregate page use and interactions such as navigation, scrolling and interface activity. Clarity may set or read identifiers and receive device, browser and network information under Microsoft's own terms. We use this information to improve the site, not to operate an advertising or user account system.

The source image you select for conversion is handled by browser image and Canvas APIs. Pic to ASCII does not intentionally pass the file or its source image bytes to Microsoft Clarity. Do not treat this local source-image boundary as a claim that the page makes no third-party analytics requests.

Hosting requests

The hosting, DNS and analytics infrastructure receives normal network requests needed to deliver and measure pages and assets, such as an IP address, user agent and requested URL. The current release has no first-party profile database or saved conversion history.

Changes to this notice

If future versions add accounts, payments, server-side image processing or storage, this notice must be updated before those features are presented as available. Material changes to analytics use must also be reflected here.
