PRIVACY / CURRENT RELEASE

Your source image stays on your device

This privacy notice describes the public Pic to ASCII site as it works today. Last updated July 22, 2026.

Image processing

When you choose a JPG, PNG or WebP file, browser APIs decode it and a local Canvas samples its pixels. The converter generates the ASCII text in the browser. Source image bytes are not uploaded to a Pic to ASCII application server, stored in a user account or added to a gallery.

Accounts, payments and saved projects

The current release has no account system, subscription checkout, project database or cloud image storage. Copy and download actions are initiated on your device. A downloaded text file contains the generated ASCII output, not the original image file.

Hosting requests

Like most websites, the hosting and DNS infrastructure receives normal network requests needed to deliver pages and assets, such as an IP address, user agent and requested URL. The converter does not include a product analytics or advertising script in this release.

Changes to this notice

If future versions add accounts, payments, analytics, server-side image processing or storage, this notice must be updated before those features are presented as available.
