ABOUT / THE TOOL

A focused tool for turning pictures into text

Pic to ASCII is a free browser-based image-to-ASCII converter built for fast experiments, copyable output and honest privacy.

Why this tool exists

Many ASCII workflows begin with a command-line package or an editor that gives little control over the final text. Pic to ASCII puts the useful choices in one visible workspace: select an image, choose a character texture, set the output width, preview the result and copy or download the text.

Local by design

The current converter decodes and samples source images in your browser. It does not need an account, an upload service or a database. That keeps the first release quick to use and makes the privacy claim easy to understand: your source image is not sent to our application server.

What is available now

JPG, PNG and WebP input, four character presets, output widths from 40 to 200 characters, dark or light preview, clipboard copy and UTF-8 text download are available today. Features that do not exist yet are not advertised as purchasable.
